Children’s Dental Health Month

Did you know that February is National Children's Dental Health Month?

During Children’s Dental Health Month, we should use this time to educate our kids on good dental habits. Early childhood dental caries (decay) is the single most common chronic childhood disease - 5 times more common than asthma, four times more common than early childhood obesity, and 20 times more common than diabetes.

We recommend an evaluation six months after the eruption of their first tooth! Early preventive dental care will protect your child from tooth decay and other oral health problems. One way to have children take ownership of their oral health is by teaching them why we brush and floss.

Happy Children’s Dental Health Month! Make sure to schedule your child’s first visit during their first year of life to ensure a bright future for their oral health! Keep your children's smiles glowing their brightest by bringing them in for regular dental check-ups.

As a parent, getting your child to brush and floss regularly can be stressful, and it is not uncommon for children to resist. If you need any tips or tricks, are concerned about oral habits, or need recommendations, please do not hesitate to reach out!

Please call one of our dental offices in Cambridge or Somerville, MA, or contact us online for more information.
